PCBA test is the most crucial quality control step in the entire PCBA processing procedure, which should be in strict compliance with PCBA test standard. Testing dots on the circuit boards should be tested based on the test plan provided by the client.
There are 5 kinds of PBCA tests in general: ICT, FCT, burn in test, fatigue test and severe conditions test.
ICT (In Circuit Test) mainly includes tests for on-off of circuits, voltage and current value, and the fluctuating curves, amplitude, noise, and so on.
FCT (Functional Circuit Test) needs to be conducted via IC program, which aims to conduct simulating test for the function of the PCBA board to detect problems in both the hardware and the software and equip the necessary production tools and testing frames.
BIT (Burn In Test) is to observe the malfunctions when PCBA and the electronics are connected with electricity for a long time. Electronics can be dispatched from factories for bulk sales only after they pass burn in test.
Fatigue tests are mainly intended for sampling PCBA and make its function work in high frequency and for long time to observe whether failure may occur in the process. For example, by keeping on clicking on the mouse for 100 thousand times or by turning off LED light for 10 thousand times to test the probabilities for breaking down, which will serve as a feedback for the performance of electronics inside the PCBA board.
In tests on severe conditions, PCBA board is exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, falling, splashing, vibrating, etc. to obtain the test results of the tested samples, so that the reliability of the entire batch of PCBA can be worked out.
